At Ava May Aromas, we’re on the hunt for one lucky scent fanatic to be our official autumn wax melt scent tester. In this temporary and remote position, you’ll indulge in and review a selection of fragrances, to help us to decide which ones will make the cut for our Autumnal Wax Melt selection next year, from the comfort of your own home. The melts are yours to keep, and we’ll even sweeten the deal with a £300 amazon voucher for sharing your honest thoughts with us.

The scents will include Treacle Toffee, Apple Candy, Frosted Candy Apple, Berry Bewitching Brew, Dragons Blood, Woodland Holiday, Trick or Treat, Hocus Pocus, Spice Pumpkin, Crisp Fall Night, Crackling Log Fire, Hot Apple Pie, Marshmallow Fluff.

Wax melt tester: Job spec

We’re looking for one wax melt lover and self-confessed scent guru to review our autumn wax melts.

Our dream tester will be:

• A wax melt lover
• OBSESSED with autumn and the scents of the season
• Articulate, honest and happy to share your thoughts – good and bad!
• Based within the UK
• Aged 18 or older
• Able to review their wax melts within three weeks of products being delivered

What we’ll need from you

Our lucky new wax melt tester will be sent a selection of our autumnal-scented wax melts. You’ll be given time to test out your new goodies before sending your feedback to our team.

We want honest, detailed reviews of the products you receive – which scents you love, which you’re not a fan of, or any new scents you’d love to smell!

Your reviews will be shared with our teams and may even make it onto our blog. If you’re considering entering, you should be happy for your name and reviews to be shared!

How to apply

The application process is simple, to enter, just email us at dreamjobtester@avamayaromas.com and let us know a little bit about you. We’d love to know some of your favourite autumnal scents, plus a short description of why you think this job would be perfect for you.

The deadline for entrants is 15^th October 2023. Our lucky new wax melt tester will be notified by 22^nd October 2023.

Entrants must be from Mainland UK, aged 18 or over, and live at an address where they’re able to accept package deliveries.

Conditions of Participation
for the Ava May Dream Job Competition

1. Scope of application

By taking part in the competition, the participant accepts these conditions.

2.Organizer

• The organizer of the competition is Ava May Aromas (herein: “Organizer”).
• This competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any social media platform. All information regarding the competition is solely provided by the Organizer. In cases of any questions, suggestions or complaint, please contact the Organizer at dreamjobtester@avamayaromas.com.

3. Eligibility for Participation

• The competition is open to all persons who, at the date of entry, are (1) aged 18 years or over; and (2) who are resident in mainland United Kingdom.
• The Organizer’s employees, their immediate family members, and employees of cooperation partners who are or were involved in creating or implementing the competition, are excluded from participation.
• Participation is only possible on one’s own behalf and joint submissions are not allowed. There is a restriction on one entry per person per competition.
• The Organizer reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

4. Participation

• Participation in the competition is free of charges and fees and does not require the purchase of goods and/or services.
• The competition starts on 25/09/2023. The deadline for entries is the 15 October 2023.
• To take part in the competition, the participant must comply with each of the following requirements.
  • The participant must submit the following information to dreamjobtester@avamayaromas.com when entering: Tell us a little bit about you. We’d love to know some of your favourite autumnal scents, plus a short description of why you think this job would be perfect for you.
  • The participant must agree that the wax melt reviews they submit to Organizer can be shared as part of the promotion for Ava May Aromas, including social media, the Ava May website, and associated PR activity.
  • The participant must agree that any content they submit will be shared with internal marketing and product teams at Organizer, plus associated marketing agencies.
• Submissions containing any defamatory, obscene, illegal, offensive, or any other unsuitable material (as determined by the Organizer) will be disqualified and not be eligible.
• The Organizer accepts no responsibility for incomplete, incorrectly completed, lost or delayed entries or for any malfunctions or failures in the software that has been designed to maintain the participant’s details.
• The Organizer reserves the right to exclude a participant who violates these Conditions of Participation, tampers with the competition, or makes false representations or statements that violate applicable law or infringe third-party rights. If a participant is excluded, prizes and benefits may be subsequently revoked and reclaimed. In this case, a new winner will be determined pursuant to the procedure in section 5.3.

5. Prizes, determination and notification of winners

• There will be one prize winner. The prize consists of an opportunity for the prize winner to carry out a first review scent test of a selection of autumnal-scented wax melts from Ava May Aromas, such wax melts received will be an autumn selection subject to availability. In addition, the winner will be provided with £300 in amazon vouchers, subject to the successful completion of the requirements set out at section 5.2, including receipt by the Organizer of the Reviews (as defined below). If any of the terms from section 5.2 are not met, the voucher prize will not be awarded. The £300 voucher prize will be issued once the Reviews are submitted.
• Within 3 weeks of receiving the wax melts, the winning participant, selected in accordance with section 5.3, will be required to:

• Test each wax melt and give a rating based on specific requirements, including, (i) the strength of the wax melt (ii) the scent of the wax melt (iii) the appearance of the wax melt and (iv) the quality of the wax melt; then
• Submit to Organizer a 150-word minimum review for each wax melt, providing a score for each wax melt, then placing all of them in an order of which they liked most to which they liked least (“the Reviews”).
  • The winner will be determined, based upon the strength of the entry, by an independent panel. The first winner will be contacted directly no later than 22 October 2023.
  • The winner will be notified via email and hereby give their consent to the disclosure of their names in the Organizer’s social networks.
  • The winner must accept the prize by giving written confirmation of acceptance and providing contact details (including phone number) via email.
  • The notified winner may accept the prize only within 24 hours after receiving the notification of the prize by way of email. If a winner fails to accept his/her prize within this period, his/her prize shall be forfeited. In this case a new winner will be determined pursuant to the procedure in section 5.3.
  • The winner will be responsible for any taxes or charges incurred in claiming the prize.
  • Prizes are subject to availability and the Organizer reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control make it necessary to do so.
  • Compensation of the prizes in cash, their exchange, or their transfer to other persons are excluded.
  • The Organizer does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

6. Rights of Use

• The participant warrants that the Reviews shall be free of third party rights, in particular free of copyrights and other intellectual property rights (e. g. patents, trademarks, design rights, know-how etc.), and that the participant has the right to grant a license to the Organizer pursuant to section 6.2.
• The participant hereby grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, freely assignable right, that is unrestricted in terms of time, geography and content, and for which sublicenses may be issued, to use the Reviews by way of all known and currently unknown types of use. The rights of use include – on a national and international basis – in particular Organizer’s right to copy, modify, process, publish and market the Reviews. This grant of rights is free of charge any royalty-free.

7. Data Protection

• By submitting an entry, participants agree to provide their personal information which will be used and disclosed by the Organizer and its authorized agents for the purposes of competition administration and prize fulfillment. Personal information collected by the Organizer is subject to the Organizer’s Privacy Policy at: https://avamayaromas.com/privacy-policy/

• The winner agrees to allow the Organizer to use their surname and country of residence to announce the winner of the prize on the Organizer’s social media networks. The winner may object to their names or country of residence being published or request for the amount of information being published to be reduced.

8. Miscellaneous

• The Organizer’s decisions regarding all promotional matters will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
• In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Organizer, or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or an error (human or technical) affects or could affect the proper operation of this promotion or the awarding of prizes, the Organizer reserves the right to cancel or amend these terms and conditions at any stage, but will endeavour to minimise the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
• Insofar as is permitted by law, the Organizer, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Organizer, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
• If any provision of these Conditions of Participation is held invalid by any law, rule, order or regulation of any government, or by the final determination of any court of a competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of any other provisions not held to be invalid.
• All legal relationships arising because or in connection with these terms and conditions and the competition are subject to English law.
