Things to be aware of
Decorative candles are as the name implies, a decorative piece. Some people like to use them as an ornamental feature whilst others choose to burn them and create a wonderful aromatic ambience. If you choose to use your decorative candle as an ornament, make sure you dust it down occasionally with a feather duster or a soft cloth. If you should decide to burn it, make sure to place it on a dish to catch the dripping wax. You may also want to melt the base of an unsteady candle for a few seconds in order to help secure it to a dish.
How long do decorative candles burn?
Decorative candles have different burn times depending on the type of wax used and the wick. Pillar design candles tend to burn for longer than fancy shapes as they generally burn through all the wax. A fancy design is less likely to burn all the wax and can even last for as little as just a few hours. Many people purchase decorative candles for their ornamental effect and therefore get just as many hours of pleasure as somebody purchasing and immediately burning a candle in a jar.
