Catching up with @lilyflorencehome

It’s so nice to catch up, how are you?

Great thanks! Lockdown has been super positive for me. I have found some new hobbies and have been working a lot on body positivity.

For anyone that may not follow your socials, could you tell us a little about yourself?

Of course, I absolutely love posting to my Instagram accounts. My home account (@lilyflorencehome) is where I share everything from cleaning to decorating my first home. My newest account, @lilyflorencemiller, shares my body positivity journey, something I have been working on throughout the lockdown and I have also started a Youtube channel which, I guess, covers everything I talk about across my two Instagram accounts. Outside of this I love watching Netflix and spending far too much money online!

Now the secret is out, what do you think of our new look and product range?

It is amazing! I have just received my first order. So sleek and classy. I got some of the new wax melts, alongside a Fairy Soft candle, to add to my collection and I have already placed another order. It’s currently being processed – I’m just a little bit excited, as if you couldn’t tell!

We are in love with your home interior, how would you describe your style?

A lot of my inspiration comes from Pinterest and Instagram – hence the core style for my home is grey and white! – but I couldn’t live without pops of colour, especially the burnt orange tones in Autumn. But to be honest, feeling cosy is my priority. I want people to come in and feel like they’re at home.

How did you come across Ava May Aromas?

I guess this links to the question above really. When I moved out, I was so excited to be able to decorate and so I started to follow loads of home accounts for inspiration and I stumbled across Ava May Aromas. The fact that I could choose how my home smelt really excited me, so I placed my first order and I haven’t looked back since – I am well and truly an AMA Addict!

Wow! It sounds like you’ve got quite the AMA collection, do you have a picture?

What do you love about Ava May?

There is nothing better than receiving your parcel in the post – it feels like Christmas!

It’s definitely a treat, but without the price tag. It is so lovely to feel like you are buying from a person, not just a business, Hannah’s stories really do feel like she is talking to you as a friend.

Congratulations on your engagement last year, how’s the wedding planning going?

Thank you! I was hoping to begin planning after my cousin’s wedding in April, but unfortunately with everything that has happened over the past few months, it was cancelled and I guess it was difficult to get into the swing of planning for my own. We have started making guest lists and arranging viewings of venues, but that is it so far. I have a clear vision of what I would love – a winter wedding with loads of greenery. It’s going to be so exciting to see this come together on our wedding day.

And your proposal…we were so pleased to be a part of it! What was your initial reaction?

I had my suspicions, but I had no idea it would be with Ava May Aromas wax melts, it was perfect! I have always said that it was really important that when, and if it happened it would be personal and private – I’m not one for huge public displays of emotion. But the thought and care that went into it blew me away. My fiance had ordered from AMA and asked for personalised stickers on the wax melts to say ‘Lily, will you marry me?’ and they were in my favourite scents as well!

Aww how thoughtful…what scents did you get?

If I remember rightly, it was Velvet Rose and Oud, Spring Awakening, ZoFlo Mountain Air, Dark Opium and Savage.

Planning your wedding must be so exciting, what are you looking forward to in 2021?

Wedding planning for definite! But mainly to be able to do all the things we missed over this past year. I turned 21 during lockdown and I cannot wait to celebrate next year.

And of course we had to add in a bonus question, what is your favourite thing about Autumn?

For as long as I can remember Autumn has been my favourite season – it’s very cosy and even better, it means it is getting close to Christmas! But I guess I’m still stuck in the mindset of the academic year, so it always feels like a fresh start.

We are definitely excited for Christmas too! Thank you so much Lily for having a chat with us. It was lovely!
